Bali Weddings by Natalie

We had our wedding in Bali 2 months ago in May 2023 in a lovely estate in Tabanan surrounded with rice fields that my partner and I picked before engaging Natalie as our wedding planner. While we had such a great time on our wedding with family and friends who loved how beautiful the wedding venue was and had a lot of fun, we did experience several challenges with our wedding planner that we would like to address in a more refined manner: 1) We understood Natalie being based in the UK coordinating at distance weddings while her sister/staff being present in Bali, we were assured that her sister who was in our communication loop for the past 10 months and a team would be present on the wedding day for coordination. On the day of the wedding, only 2 staff were present and Natalie sister did not show up, we did not even receive any message about it prior or after the wedding about it. 2) During the wedding, the dinner was quite chaotic and deviated significantly from the planned arrangements. The 2 staff of Natalie being present failed to effectively coordinate or communicate with the catering staff (catering done by Last Hurrah) and did not provide clear instructions regarding the events dinner schedule. At some point the management of the venue itself felt embarrassed and had to go to the catering staff as the guests had been waiting for 20+ mins for starters being served and no-one indicated to guests there were food Stations for Mains despite being the Menu schedule had been planned with Natalie and the caterer . 3) While we do understand that wedding planning process is not simple and require constant communication, the communication process we experienced was lengthy and complex, involving numerous emails on same topic items, reluctance to summarise items into an Excel sheet or to exchange by messages before sending repetitive emails (eg. it resulted into multiple emails threads in parallel, for instance decor has 5 multiple email threads instead of discussing it on just 1 single email thread for easy reference). Those excessive back-and-forth discussions, left us with limited guidance and created more hassle that we had to request sync up calls to be able to navigate. As part of the wedding planning process, we would have expected that Natalie would have kept a checklist file and help us with budgeting to helps us track items since it's wedding planning service after all and part of the job. Instead, my partner and I had to create a detailed Excel Google Sheet for wedding checklist and budget list to ensure that suppliers have been selected, booked, on track and on budget. 4) Regrettably, the flower choices provided on the day did not meet our expectations. we made a mood board including pictures and did several calls on how we wanted our decor & flowers to be like based on our taste which we would expect that as a wedding planner and their service, they should be able to help us conceptualise our wedding. Still we had a great time and an amazing wedding in Bali, we hope that these different points can be addressed constructively for future improvements.

When I first met Natalie after many emails back and forth, I was instantly put at ease by her calm, soothing, positive nature. Even after I began chopping and changing (as a bride does) Natalie easily adapted and made my ideas happen. She is so organised and professional. I can not fault anything about her. It's almost like she could read my mind and would often raise topics with me before I'd even said anything. Her respectful and knowledgeable approach to the Indonesian way of life is really good. This is something she's picked up after years of living there and such a good skill to have to do business there Thank you so much for all your help. I was recommended Natalie during a very stressful state as my original wedding planner whom I had hired for 6months was poor at communication, incompetent, did not get anything done, and got really nasty towards me when I tried to terminate our contract. Natalie came into our lives, went straight into work and organised my schedule within two weeks.
