King Law and his wife, Shadow, established Savour Productions in 2013 as an answer to their own difficulties during wedding planning. "The wedding industry in Hong Kong is quite formulaic, so you can expect similar poses, effects, and outcomes. We want to offer an alternative for couples who yearn for more personal, artistic photos instead," said King.
"We capture each couple's story in a timeless and romantic style filled with personal touches. We also utilize natural light, which is the best way to present film photography," King explained. He draws inspiration from fine art wedding photography in the United States, and has even attended workshops by top photographers including Jose Villa and Jen Huang.
For King and Shadow, each step matters when it comes to wedding photography. "We treasure every aspect of our service; the communication, shooting process, outcome of the photos, and the presentation of the photos. In short, we value the whole experience," he said. To ensure the finest quality of each photo, he only processes film at a well-known photo lab in the United States.
In the future, King plans to introduce fine art wedding photography to Hong Kong couples through collaborations with like-minded wedding vendors. "Most weddings here are held inside ballrooms. Since we love natural light, we're aiming to show customers the beauty of getting married at bright outdoor venues," he shared.
