A botanical wedding with a touch of modernity is a wedding theme that's still highly sought among brides. For Winston and Lydia's wedding, Elior Design perfectly conveys this theme with greenery-dominated wedding decoration and a touch of modern elements. "Winston and Lidya is a fun, modern and expressive couple with great attitude, making them highly suitable for this theme," said Helena of Elior Design.
The concept that Helena had for this wedding is an Urban Jungle which she describes as, "Modern and botanical contrasted with desert plants, gigantic leaves and greeneries opposed with minimalist grey or white backgrounds." So without further ado, slide through the slideshow below to see how you can create a modern botanical wedding with these wedding elements!
Green matrimony set up
“The Holy matrimony was held at a terrace on the second floor, which was literally surrounded by trees, making the atmosphere seem otherworldly,” Helena said. A combination of oversized greens, wooden chairs, and concrete floors already made the venue seem so alive. A tip for brides, find a venue that’s already naturally beautiful so you don’t have to splurge too too much on making it look ‘green’.
No holy matrimony is complete without a set of matching bride groom chairs. For this particular theme, simply adorn it with leaves and little flowers, don’t forget to hang a transparent hand-caligraphed signage behind it too!
A play of plants
Don’t be ashamed to play with plant combinations to really get the ambience you’re looking for. “We used leaves calligraphed with gold and combined it with desert plants such as cacti and succulent to create a compelling contrast,” Helena said. Elegant and eclectic, the best of both worlds, don’t you think?
Arches and gazebo
For the ceremony, Elior Design created an arch made out of branches, greens and white flowers for a sweet botanical vibe. And as a contrast, a metal-structure gazebo over the dance floor for the reception to achieve the ultimate modern look.
“We use acrylic signage to add a more modern vibe,” Helena explained and we wholeheartedly agree that these beautiful signage added an even more modern feeling to the whole celebration.
Rustic reception area
Instead of a tall and sleek guest reception table, these wooden, more-rustic looking ones look so much better with this concept. Pair it with a wall of leaves and Edison bulbs, and you’re all set!
An urban-looking photo gallery
“For the photo gallery, a love quote in neat serif typography were set against hand-painted grey panels and the escort cards has gold script names on it. Meanwhile, the wire boxes really brought an urban look to the wedding,” Helena explained. Who knew that urban meets botanical could look this good? With a set up like this, your guests would definitely take time to enjoy looking at your photos as well as take same shots with them too!
A warm and welcoming table
Nothing makes a guest feel welcome than a warm table. For this wedding, Elior Design also used a caligraphed leaf to maintain consistency with the escort cards and lit some candles to evoke an intimate atmosphere.
An eclectic wedding stage
Last but not least, the wedding stage. Putting together greeneries, wire elements, gold accents and fairy lights really imbued a botanical and modern mix that is simply undeniable.
