"We met at a coffee shop in 2014, I fell in love with him at the first sight but we only started dating in 2017," reminisced Afira, or Eyya. Unlike any other couple, Ryan's proposal to his girlfriend was quite the hip one. "Last year on September at around 2 pm, my Instagram notification was filled by people tagging me on their posts, with #1000postuntukeyya (a thousand posts for Eyya). Even a few public figure accounts posted as well! I was surprised and also so happy," Afira gushed. She then continued, "Even if it didn't reach 1000 posts or even if it was just one post, I would still say yes."
The pre-wedding photo shoot took two weeks to plan. "I am Sundanese and he's Betawi, so we chose a Peranakan theme, which carried the style of Javanese society in the 1930s," explained Afira. With white-and-blue-colored attires, their photo session in Gedong Putih was nothing but charming. The vast spaces provided room for the couple to relax and really immerse in one another. For their session in Chinatown however, it was a different story. "There were a lot of visitors that day and we became the center of people's attention. They were laughing at us too!" she said with a smile.
