Perth is such a beautiful place, and you don't have to go very far to be able to capture timeless photos amidst breathtaking landscapes. Statham's Quarry offers rocky backdrops that look amazing from every angle, while Lesmurdie Falls gives out a romantic and dramatic vibe, especially during sunset. Ian and Melanie worked with Hong Ray to capture the natural and adventurous essence of their relationship. "The places look so much more majestic in real life than in pictures. I remember having a hard time deciding which spots to use as all of them looks splendid!" said Hong Ray.
To get to the shoot location, the couple and the photographer had to trek on slippery algae-covered rocks and cross small streams by foot. Even at the bottom of the falls, they were met with a steep rocky slope to climb before reaching the waterfall. "It was pretty scary for me as the current was strong and I can't swim! Luckily I managed to find a way to cross walking barefoot in the water," the photographer shared. For some angles, the photographer took his drone out and set it to the best height so he could capture the whole atmosphere.
Even with a difficult track, the results are all well worth it! Ian and Melanie were both wearing casual, everyday outfits, yet the frames still look fabulous; proving once again that you don't need fancy clothing and expensive suits to create breathtaking photos. Also in this case, the beautiful landscapes Perth has to offer does its magic in each shot, setting in an atmospheric feeling into the images. The couple looked so in love. Both of them managed to show the most important thing in an engagement photo shoot, which is not an extravagant dress or venue, but the chemistry and love they have for each other.
