Describing what transpired in the wedding of someone closest to your heart is always a feat. You drown in the details of the day because you know EVERYTHING that matters to the couple: the sneaky inside-jokes, the jaw-dropping laugh-out-loud moments, the disappointment over that flower arrangement gone haywire, or even why the parents have begun crying when they weren't even halfway through the speeches yet. So how do you condense this immense minefield of emotions into a couple of paragraphs or so? You don't. It's impossible. And in many ways, you are comforted by the fact that even if the bride is your dearest sister, she never needed a lot of words from you to know how much you want all the happiness in the world to be hers, even in the tiniest of details. I am Carla, the official writer of Habi Collective Media's Bridestory posts, and this has been, by far, the most difficult piece I have had to compose. Three paragraphs in and I still haven't made sense. I choke with emotions, stopping to type just to wipe my eyes blurred by tears. I have seen my sister in her worst days, crying bitterly for myriads of reasons. And seeing her -- together with the love of her life -- so happy in these photos... why, no words will ever suffice. No words.
