Highly recommended

Shania was very helpful from day 1 and she gave many valuable advice to me with the selection of gowns. She also helped in looking for a gown for my mum but didn't manage to as my mum couldn't fit into the gowns. Superb service, a place highly recommended for all brides-to-be!

Affordable, flexible & service with a personal touch

WORST MTM EXPERIENCE EVER

BTBs, beware!! At my first visit with Kleid Gown, I showed them photos of a designer dress that I would like to have replicated (Zahavit Tshuba's Naama) and express to them that wanted it as a champagne colored evening gown, not a wedding gown. I explained that my husband and I got married back in January and that we were having a reception in the US to celebrate with family and friends. Shania, the sales girl, shows me a lovely stretchy saluna sildol fabric that she suggested the dress being made in (remember this point for later). Kleid Gown quoted me around $800, which was around the same price quoted from the tailors in Far East Plaza, so I decided to go with them since, after all, they are a bridal shop so I thought they knew what they were doing. But I was wrong. When I decided to engage with them to make the dress, they gave me a firm quote of $880 and then outlined the process for me: 1. Make a 50% deposit by bank transfer or credit card 2. They would make sketches and ink it after no changes are made 3. Sourcing of fabrics and colors 4. Once fabrics are chosen, they will start making the dress 5. 1st fitting 6. Patchwork and embellishments are attached 7. Final fitting So I made the bank transfer of 50% (after I got a $50 discount from some survey) and then Kleid Gown scheduled me in for measurements, all the way in Khatib. The tailor took my measurements and then I was rushed off since she seemed quite busy. Before I left, I asked Shania, one of the employees what the next step is, and she vaguely said in a few weeks. Ok, so I guessed I would get the sketches (step 2) and see the fabric and colors (step 3) in a few weeks then. Wrong! Shania called me in to the shop in Ubi and lo and behold, there is a dress in a spanking WHITE stiff satin, not the **champagne** color saluna sildol that we had discussed in the consultation. Excuse me, Kleid Gown refers to the color as "ivory." Kleid Gown had completely skipped steps 2 and 3, which are absolutely crucial in making a bespoke dress. They never presented me with a fabric swatch or colors before making my dress, and the one fabric swatch that they did show me, they didn't even use. Then Kleid Gown insisted that I had agreed to ivory satin, but I had never confirmed this as I was awaiting for fabric swatches to be shown to me. All I have is a receipt from them after I transferred my 50% deposit, which they refused to refund to me. They did offer to remake the dress in the saluna sildol fabric, albeit it would still be in the white/ivory color. This was so they can cut up the original dress and reuse the parts to make the 2nd dress. Uh, cut up? Excuse me? And it would still be white/ivory, not the champagne that I had asked for -- what is the point of getting a custom made dress if it is not in the correct color?? I attempted to negotiate with them to remake the dress in the correct color and the correct fabric, but they demanded a top of an additional $400, making total cost of the dress 150% of the quoted price. Um, no thank you. They refused to refund me my deposit despite them not following through on their design process, so I was left to file a claim at the Small Claims Tribunal. After a long drawn out process, the court ordered that Kleid Gown refund me only half of my deposit to be fair to both parties since the work was completed. In sum, I paid $215 of a dress that I do not have since Kleid Gown refuses to give me the dress, finished or not. This is speculation, but I think that they will finish the dress and put it available to rent to unsuspecting BTBs. Oh, by the way, the dress only cost them $300 to make -- therefore 2/3 of that unfinished dress is paid for by yours truly. And what do I have to wear to my reception in October? NOTHING. Thanks for the terrible experience, Kleid Gown.

But we would like to retort it this time. 1. When the dispute first came about cause of the fabric. We offered to change it at no cost to you to your preferred material even though the satin we used was cost double as compared to the 'sildoll' you prefer. In which you agreed on the phone but decided against it a day later. 2. As attached an email recap with our initial conversation in which you did not retort nor contact us to tell us we made a mistake with the colour or fabric choices. 3. You demanded us to remake a new dress in a colour you have never mentioned(to throw away the initial dress done in ivory) with publicity as you said your wedding would be showcased in wedding blogs etc. 4. We have never rushed you off on the day of measurements and you asked us "when would my first fitting be?" In which we replied in a few weeks. 5. When you insisted you wanted a champagne colour, we offered you a change at a topup of S$130. Which you didn't wanted. 6. We've been threatened by both you and your husband in your words, "to ruin our name all over social media" 7. The judge has ordered us to refund u 50% = $207.50 and did not mentioned that we should give the dress to you since you did not paid 100% for it. However in your email, you demanded us to send the dress to your home. 8. We take constructive feedback and comments to work harder on providing a better service. However with the facts and the evidence. We do not agree to the allegations made against us. 9. The dress you wanted was a US$6000 Zahavit Tshuba gown. And you wanted to replicate it exactly. Thus as mentioned the sketch was not provided as you did not wanted any changes. 10. When you first came to us, we know you have a tight budget of S $800 and we wanted to make it work for you. Thus improvising and using a more expensive satin, offering you to use ready beaded crystals to save more. 11. In a layman's term it may be called "cut up" but technically, it will mean that we would discard the satin and replace it with your preferred choice. Of course the dress would still be perfectly made - if not we dare not call it 'complete' or give you a end product that is substandard. That would ruin us more. 12. We have also showed u the colour in the sildoll fabric in which you said it was perfect as you like the texture of it. We had use the exact same colour for the satin. Kleid Gown & Co. had never ever 'blamed' you and we have never "ignored" your calls, texts, emails. And we have never been unkind to you. We have always insisted on Whatsapp and Email that we are partially responsible for this dispute. And if we are out to scheme you or your money, would the judge not ask us to pay no less but the full deposit to you? It was a fair trial but if you did not think it was fair, perhaps you can consider an appeal to the order? What would we gain if we were to cheat you of $130? Or of your materials since you mentioned u did consider buying them yourself. And if we were that expensive comparer to far east plaza tailors, given that you are on a tight budget. Wouldn't you had prefer engaging them if they were cheaper? We've apologized a lot of times to you over different forms of communication. Out of the hundreds of brides we've with, the customers, the grooms and the brides, many would know how much we pride ourselves on delivering a happy experience and flexibility to our service while being affordable. We've never had a single claim or dispute in our 2 years of business, this means something to us and how far we've come. On an end note, there was no mention of champagne in any form of contact (whatsapp, emails, sms). And that we are really disheartened that you decided to act on your threats to us by 'ruining us'. We're sadden that we were unable to continue this relationship out of a misunderstanding to make a dress that you will be happy with. However we retort that we have tried all means to compromise and to work things out with you to no avail. In all businesses, there will come a day where we will meet a customer that we cannot appease even by doing more than we should. We would also like say Thank You Karen for this experience so that we can strive to do even better. Flexibility and service has always been our trait and we will continue to work harder. Having both versions of the stories out here. Kleid Gown & Co. leave it to our future brides and customers to decide on the truth.
