Novita and Ruby is the kind of couple that lets everything naturally shows its beauty. They chose one of the most breathtaking places in The Lion City: The Clifford Pier at The Fullerton Bay Hotel. Occupying Singapore's historical site, the venue offers an overlooking scene to Marina Bay which gives a magical panorama of the city's night lights.
Having in mind to decorate a heritage venue, Alexander Gotama from LXE Moments decided to play with colours and movements to create bespoke flower arrangements. Together with Singapore-based florist, Humid House, they combined the decorative vision with the client's brief. "The concept was liberated, independent and edgy," Alexander explained. "Novita and Ruby have a specific style preference, but it actually helped me a lot to picture the art direction."
Based in Jakarta, the challenge was inevitable. Alexander and team had to fly several properties from their hometown since some of them were not available in Singapore, especially the colours and textures that match to his mood board. "We brought place cards and menu cards created by Truffypi, handmade silk ribbons with natural dye for the bouquets and boutonnieres from Floralchemy, plus vintage trays and styling mats from my personal collection," Alexander spoke about the process behind the scene.
At the end, everything blended perfectly on its way. A well-styled ranunculus, anemone, fringed tulip, magnolia, lisianthus, rose, spirea, amaranthus, grape, pomegranate and other greeneries and branches collaborated flawlessly with the elegant industrial architecture of the venue. The artistic fusion was also enhanced by the appearance of the married couple, especially the bride. Channelling a dress from Pronovias, Novita proved that she has a couture sense of fashion.
Alexander felt blessed having a chance to work with the lovebirds. For him, they are such fun and cooperative individuals. Alexander and the bride even still share stories until now. "The best thing was also to get to know all Singaporean and Indonesian vendors!" he confessed.
