Desiree and Teguh were college sweethearts back in Seattle. One fine winter day, Teguh suddenly proposed to Desiree at Central Park, New York and now, they're sharing their breathtaking wedding celebration that happened just a while ago.
Standing parties are popular in Indonesia, but Desiree and Teguh were set on having a sit-down dinner. "We wanted an intimate wedding where we could properly host our guests, so there was no second thought on having a seated dinner reception," explained Desiree. She was obsessed with the combination of dusty blue and gold, which perfectly fitted her ethereal wedding concept. "Dusty blue can be really tricky. One wrong shade can make the whole thing look pale, so the right shades of dusty blue became a serious topic in our wedding planning," said Desiree.
Desiree knows what she likes when she sees it, which is why she didn't settle for less when choosing her wedding vendors. She even took months to hunt for her dream wedding dress in Singapore and New York, before realizing that the best designer for her was back home in Indonesia. "Biyan was perfect as he understood my idea of an ethereal dress," said Desiree.
At first, she wanted to forgo the wedding cake as she couldn't find anything she liked. Things changed when a friend of her sister's, Erlina Katuari, agreed to make her an absolutely stunning wedding cake. Every detail was handcrafted from scratch and, most importantly, adorned in shades of dusty blue and gold. There to capture every moment was the remarkable Erika Gerdemark, who Desiree knew from the start was the photographer of her dreams.
Desiree's strong character and love of perfection paid off, as her wedding was a truly enchanting and memorable one. At the end of the day, though, Desiree and Teguh realized that what made their wedding such a happy memory was not how beautiful it turned out to be, but how their family and friends showered them with plenty of love and well wishes.
"Our wedding was filled with personal touches from our dearest family and friends. My uncle played the piano; our photographer friend, Benedictus Adrian covered our wedding; Alicia Kasih, my talented childhood friend, choreographed a play by the Jakarta Broadway Team; and my bridesmaid made the best wedding speech ever!" said Desiree. "We were also blessed to have met wonderful vendors who worked together to help get our wedding day run smoothly."
So, let's take a look at their wedding album by Erika Gerdemark that will surely amaze you.
