Biyan and Yudith went to the same elementary school and coincidentally were in the same class from grade 1 to 6. "It was during grade 5 that we got close as we sat together for a year. We went to the same school again in junior high and that was when he started to have a crush on me," Yudith recalled. Unfortunately, on the second year of junior high Biyan transferred to another school. Even so, it turned out to be a blessing in disguise as that made Biyan even more curious to get her. "He finally had the guts to ask me out and that's where our love story began," she said.
To celebrate their 12th anniversary, the couple flew to Ubud in Bali. "Before sunset we enjoyed cocktails, talked and took pictures. This is what we normally do, so I didn't suspect anything at all," Yudith recalled. As it grew darker the couple then moved to the dinner table, which was already beautifully set by the river. "There was no one else but us and Biyan popped the question before dinner. The ring was brought in on a bed of roses but I earnestly thought it was cake at first! So Biyan stood and did what a man got to do. After saying yes, we enjoyed the rest of the night as a newly engaged couple!" she said.
When asked about their wedding theme, Yudith gave a quick answer without hesitation. "Rustic elegance. We wanted to make something unique and different, a cross breed of rustic elements such as dried flowers, and elegant elements like chandeliers and antique gold," explained the beautiful bride. To help with their wedding styling, the couple then enlisted the help of Flying Bride. "She was the first vendor we booked. As I've known Tassya and seen how undoubted her taste is, we trusted her to create our dream wedding concept," she continued.
For their holy matrimony, the couple chose to hold it in Jakarta Cathedral. "It was a dream come true to walk down that aisle and exchange vows in this beautiful place. We admired the church details and how natural everything was. Sun rays blazing from the windows and the sound of birds chirping really set a dramatic mood throughout the whole ceremony," Yudith said. The bride wore a white embellished dress by Indonesian Designer, Biyan, which was everything that she hoped for.
Two days laters, their reception was held in Amanusa Resort in Bali and we think it's safe to say that it was enchantingly beautiful. The muted color palette decoration sits in really beautifully with the venue which brought a sophisticated elegance to the whole set up. "We fell in love with Amanusa the very moment we stepped on it. Altogether the venue was romantic, elegant and peaceful, the very things we want our wedding to be like," Yudith said.
Besides the decoration, there was another element of theirs that caught our attention instantly. As an act of sharing their story, the couple created their own newspaper consisting of their love tale. "It also shows us in the eyes of our bridal party and our pre-wedding photos. We think sharing them this way makes it all the more intimate for the guests," Yudith enthused.
