"Garud and I met when we were 16. It was the first day of math class in high school," said Hannah, today's beautiful bride. The two started dating, yet had to undergo a long-distance relationship for five years when Hannah lived abroad. "Each time I visited him in Montreal, he picked me up from the central train station," she recalled, "When I finally moved there from London, Garud was waiting for me on the platform. As I came up the stairs there, he was waiting for me on bended knee!" she recalled.
Hannah and Garud soon rented Borgo Pignano, a luxurious villa in Tuscany, as their wedding venue. It was also where their dearest family and friends stayed throughout the weekend. "Walking around the estate and knowing everyone I ran into was an incredibly touching experience," said Hannah. The villa's understated charm and vast plains paired beautifully with the couple's bohemian chic theme which was inspired by Dolce & Gabbana.
For the ceremony, they transformed a nearby forest into a simple yet charming setup. Garud had on a marsala-colored suit while Hannah looked stunning in an elegant gown by Ines di Santo. Tucked into her side-swept braids were gorgeous white orchids. For the reception, their choice fell to the garden area. The table decorations and flowers were selected by Hannah herself, with the help of her wedding decorator, Floralia. "Simona walked me through her storage rooms and atelier, letting me handpick items that caught my eye. I was in heaven!" Hannah exclaimed.
A warm, close-knit atmosphere could be felt throughout the entire celebration. As a fun, bohemian touch, each guest received a handmade tambourine by Chicweddings Italy to bring back home. The food was also extraordinary and authentic. "Our guests still rave about how the chef, Vicenzo popped over to the garden to pick some herbs and just threw them into our dishes. The service by the entire staff of Borgo Pignano was seamless and coordinated like a ballet," said Hannah.
One of Hannah's fondest moments, however, happened before the wedding even started. "Garud tapped on my window at 3 in the morning. He pulled me out of the villa and led me to the pool where our friends were waiting. It was pitch black and we all jumped into the pool together with the stars shining bright above us. Waking up the next morning was difficult, but I loved how we all shared this little secret moment," she reminisced.
