A line of trees surrounded by dimmed lights and thin fog transferred everyone who attended Biyan Wanaatmadja's Spring Summer 2020 Collection to a serene and magical atmosphere. Welcome to the designer's sanctuary of nature! Not long after, a flock of models entered in floral-detailed attires with a color gradation from pastel to vibrant to bring the spirit to the tranquility.
Title The Wonder Garden, one of the main attractions of these Biyan's designs were the tulle and silk organza experiments which came in light-weight layers and ruffles. The flower embroideries were continued from soft to bold colors, such as vibrant blue, coral red, and orange. As if it were a transition from spring to summer, the next pieces showed more casual and boyish cuts. The floral motif was still the primadonna, but it was combined with geometrical patterns. Mosaics, sequins, and crystal beads added a luxurious, yet playful feel to the entire line.
Botanical treasures were indeed Biyan's main inspiration. When he was tidying up his at his old office to move to a new location, he accidentally found memorabilia which was filled with classic illustrations of various botanical plants and forest trees. At the same time, he is very fond of spending times in nature with surrounding trees. As a result, for this fashion show, Biyan loved to visualize a naive green sanctuary with a floral richness which represented by his newest collection.
