Originally, having a pre-wedding photo shoot was the last thing on both Yani and Tito's minds, "Tito and I have always preferred taking pictures of other people to having our own pictures taken," said Yani. Nevertheless, when they did step in front of the camera, the results turned out to be a lot more impressive than they had expected.

The couple went with a classic Javanese look for the shoot. "I've always loved classic and historic Javanese photos, which gave me plenty of inspiration," Yani explained. Their photographer, Ellelui, instantly understood what they had in mind and prepared a compelling mood board for the couple. Turns out, Javanese portraits weren't their only source of inspiration. As you can see, several pictures included the presence of Yani's adorable pet cat, Toshi. "Western royal families really love their pets, such as the Queen of England and her corgis. This prompted us to bring my beloved cat, Toshi into the shoot as well. It did take extra effort to make him sit still and look at the camera, though," said Yani.

After six hours, the photo shoot was complete. Both Yani and Tito loved how the pictures looked and how they exuded the traditional and historic atmosphere that the couple had aimed for in the first place. "The key is to do a concept you're comfortable with and be sure to pick a theme that's timeless," said Yani, and we couldn't agree more.
