Helen and Alvet first met during their high school days in Singapore. "We kind of hated each other back then and never really talked. Somehow, we reconnected when we got back for good and everything just clicked. It's funny how fate managed to bring us together in the end," recalled Helen.
For her wedding, Helen wanted to have simple and edgy decorations without too many flowers. "Alvet and I aren't the romantic kind of couple, so we went ahead with branches and lights. As for the colors, we chose silver and gold to make the setting look glamorous," she explained. They planned the wedding in one year without any issues. "We're very grateful that our parents let us make almost all of the decisions. It really made things easier for us," she said.
One of the things that Helen loved the most about her wedding was the tunnel by Lotus Design that welcomed every guest into the ballroom. "We spent a lot of time discussing, visualizing, and redesigning the entrance. We wanted our guests to feel like they had entered another dimension," Helen explained. Through the pictures taken by David Salim Photography, we can see that they really nailed it. The tunnel was so enchanting and magical, unlike anything we've seen before.
Another highlight was Helen's dream wedding dress by celebrated Indonesian designer, Biyan. "I couldn't choose between a mermaid dress or ball gown, so he asked me, 'Why not have both?' I agreed right away!" said Helen. In the end, she had three different looks in one dress. "I love that dress so much, Biyan's magic hands and detailed beadings are simply unbeatable," enthused Helen.
Throughout the planning, Helen admitted that she went through several bridezilla moments even up to three days before the wedding. However, she was surprised to find herself so relaxed on the big day itself. "I even woke up early and watched a movie while eating breakfast that day, maybe because I knew I already had the best team on hand," she said.
