Clarissa and Mariady, who is her brother's best friend, were both seeing other people the first few times they met. "I was single and just about continue my studies in the United Kingdom when he contacted me. Eventually, we started a long-distance relationship," said Clarissa. After she returned for good, Mariady secretly prepared an unforgettable surprise for her.
"We were in the cinema when the movie suddenly stopped in the middle. I thought there was a technical problem," she said. To her surprise, photos of the two of them showed up on the screen and Clarissa quickly realized that she was surrounded by her friends and family. "He booked an entire theater just for the proposal!" she reminisced.
As unexpected as the proposal was, Clarissa knew exactly what her wedding would be like. "I wanted an intimate white-wedding with lots of flowers. An elegant celebration that will stay timeless even years after the day ends," she said. To bring her vision to life, Clarissa enlisted the help of Jakarta-based wedding stylist, Flying Bride.
"If I could sum up everything that Clarissa loves, it would be anything you can find on an Elie Saab Haute Couture dress," said Nastassya of Flying Bride. With the help of their decorator, Flora Lines Decoration, Clarissa and Mariady's celebration was sprinkled with fine, intricate details with a tropical touch. "Crystals and pearls were set atop a delicate lace tablecloth to mimic the embellishments on an Elie Saab dress. Meanwhile, orchids added a Balinese flavor and represented the 3D flower appliqués that Elie Saab is famous for," Nastassya explained.
Topping off the glamorous decorations were personalized details based on Clarissa and Mariady's love story. "As the wedding proposal took place inside a movie theater, we designed the escort cards to look like classic cinema tickets. We also used popcorn to replace flower petals for the flower shower," said Nastassya.
The results are simply stunning, don't you think? Don't forget to add the photos you love to your inspiration board!
