Indonesia-based couple, Marsha and Ed decided to elope before celebrating their life event together with their family and friends on the following year. When it comes to eloping, the two wanted peace and intimacy, that's how Iceland became their destination. Along with the Scandinavian styling and floral duo, Michaela and Lotta of Nord & Mae, they started to design the perfect elopement for these lovebirds. "We knew that while we wanted to take the couple out into the spectacular raw landscapes of this amazing country, we also needed them to have time for intimacy and reflection," said Michaela.
As their elopement was set on October, the weather was harsh with the wind brisk and snowfall in the forecast. Thus, the team prepared a cozy morning at the cottage that was in the north of the island. "Setting these scenes and curating the space for them was a thoughtful process. Every piece should feel purposeful whilst the environment had to be authentic too," she continued.
After finishing their brunch at the outdoor terrace, the couple headed out into the land. The raw scenery of Iceland was captured perfectly, from the birch forest to rocky terrain. The bride was just dreamy as she clothed in her long-sleeves maxi dress with plunging neckline. Pretty details always have their own room in our heart. Look at how the creative team arranged the bridal bouquet! Don't you also think it was cohesively in line with the island's greenery?
All the heavenly views from their mountainous area exploration followed by the iconic black beach at the southernmost part of the island. In a secluded corner, sheltered from the wind by majestic rock formation, Ed and Marsha read their vows to each other. "It was the most beautiful end to an unforgettable day, for all of us," enclosed Michaela.
Last but not least, the bride also shared her gratitude towards Nord & Mae, "Since the very beginning, they were very enthusiastic and attentive from listening to our stories, doing endless research about the foreign country and its landscape to the elopement unique to us, from picking accessories to crafting other tiniest details. But above all that, these amazing ladies have so much heart and passion in what they do that their warmth envelopes and eases you throughout the process, and to us, knowing them was a big part of what made our whole experience beyond perfect."
