Diving enthusiasts Nico and Olive's love for the deep blue was the sole inspiration for their memorable outdoors wedding at North Border Bar & Grill in Rochester Park. They sought the help of wedding planner Rubina Tiyu of Inside The Knot to fulfil their dreams of a dive-themed reception, complete with magical fairy lights that created a dreamy atmosphere.
From assorted seashells and corals to a life buoy and diving gear, the venue was beautifully dressed with all things marine and given a pop of colour in various hues of the sunset. There were elements of the sea in all the décor, from the stationery to the cake and photobooth props. The bride did a little DIY herself by purchasing miniature chalkboards with wooden pegs and writing the guests names with cute underwater illustrations.
The colourful tablescape was a rustic blend of wild flowers set in recycled bottles. In the background, brightly coloured pompons were hung, offering a lovely contrast to the lush green surrounds of the restaurant. Even Olive's hand bouquet created by Inside The Knot was a fun mix of happy colours.
"This wedding truly showcases Olive and Nico's personality and preferences from the diving gear to the bright colours. Each and every detail was handcrafted to suit them. It was indeed a pleasure, and we loved everything we designed from the menu card to the table numbers," says wedding planner Rubina.
