I once wondered the philosophy of marriage. Bible said that the first woman on earth was created from a man’s rib. I guess it was the first idea of marriage and I am convinced enough to believe that God does the matchmaking for every one of us. It fascinates me to hear so many stories from our couples like how destiny bind them together in so many ways. One of them is by their relatives. Sometimes we need to be opened enough to let people come into our lives. Eddy came back to Jakarta from Wellington in early 2013. One night, he was introduced to Lyshe by his cousin. It was a matchmaking dinner at a nice pancake restaurant. But nothing sweet happened then, just a night full of food and regular chats, nothing further and nothing serious. Eddy thought that Lyshe was really playing hard to get and it made him uncomfortable. So Eddy went back to New Zealand and continued his life, so did Lyshe. And they were both seeing other people. Till one day something went through Lyshe’s mind and she texted Eddy just to say hi and to keep in touch. From that super simple hi, they began to talk about so many things. Chats after chats they felt so comfortable with each other and they decided to meet up again. Then again, and again. Distance never bothered them anyway. Eddy and Lyshe is one of the sweetest couples to me. They had their first date on the rooftop in Jakarta. Imagine, seeing the person you love with the city lights as your background - that’s a really romantic first date! So was the proposal. It was a lovely night, and under the stars, in front of a campfire, Eddy asked Lyshe to be his forever - and she said yes! Their wedding was so beautiful and personal, with many unique handmade details. I love the decorations, dress, and everything about their wedding. From a simple pancake dinner and a single hi, Eddy and Lyshe finally tied the knot.
