//11\\ 11, a magical number to the Phylicia and Wei Lun when the both of them got hitched last weekend. It's been almost 11 years of dating, from strangers, becoming friends then to lovers. It started with them being in the same CCA back in secondary school and I'd say that technology is what brought them together at the start. It was early 2003, back in the school's hydroponics club. Back then, cellphones were getting smaller and smaller and it was the "in" thing to have in school. It was just so coincidental that Wei Lun's cellphone went out of battery. (no mobile chargers back then) >.< It was then he initiated a conversation with Phylicia to borrow her cellphone. However, Phylicia misunderstood his intentions and thought that he was trying to get her contact number, so it was a straight NO in his face. It was only some weeks down the road, Phylicia realised what really happened and with the then-uprising MSN Messenger, they started to know each other better. 11 years, in present times, is considered really long and both of them have weathered through rough times and distant times. Like all young lovebirds, things got really challenging when Wei Lun was enlisted into the army. Having survived through National Service, both emerged stronger, so strong that they had no problems coping, even thought they were far apart in different countries during University. Within our circle of friends, I'm certain that we could consider them to be role model couples. Their strength to overcome all odds was something we could all learn. Both became better individuals that made them a formidable team. Here's wishing Phylicia and Wei Lun having the tenacity to always stick together through thick and thin as they embark on the next chapter of their lives as a couple.
