Set in Megalochori, Santorini | Greece, this editorial style shoot draws inspiration from one of the earlier periods in Greek Art known as the Geometric Period (900 – 700BC). Greece-based designer Christos Costarellos materializes the geometric triangular shapes and the recurring linear motifs of the era in this bohemian, intricate lace bodice, and full a-line skirt, rendering an artistic approach to dressing a bride: a whimsical utterly feminine silhouette. The Santorini landscape with its encore of endless white stairs and the clean architectural lines provides the ideal canvas as the sun moves around the island and patterns are projected onto the whitewashed walls. Tara Spencer’s handmade stationery suite contradicts the harsh, angular writing of the period, by combining expressive calligraphy and drawing, and at the same time underlines it by contrasting the black invitation ink to the white ink applied on the envelope.
