The ‘conversation’ or ‘sociable’ collection was ideal centrepiece in every living room, or was called as drawing room, in England in 18th-century. This monumental collection was made after the 1851 Great Exhibition. The central sofa is a curious combination of settee and a chaise longue which gives luxurious simple design. This ‘sociable’ collection set was also prefered by the French, but in gilded fashion. ** 3-Seater Sofa: The attractive shaping of back of this mahogany sofa makes it desirable to anyone furnishing room in the mid-Victorian manner. Though primarily intended for one person to recline on in living/parlor room, provision was made to seat a second and third person by rounding and padding the foot.
