ONO

For LAISON’s F/W 2015 collection “ONO”, we pay tribute to a restive youth movement of the 60s. Inspired by an era who focused on breaking away from traditionalist ideals, LAISON tries to break away from the typecast of the generation. Elements that are present in this collection are kept far away from tie-dye and flower prints. Departing from the usual vision of bohemia, LAISON’s attention is focused on the philosophical ideals of the period, such as the conception of freedom and a little bit of music. Translating these ideals into modern wear, a different kind of rendition was born, the kind that is closer to our time. The silhouettes are meant to be at ease. Envisioning LAISON women who are unafraid and free, nothing is constrained nor restrained, everything is relaxed and more laid back. Looking at the dropped shoulders, the slip dress, and the wide legged pants; all feels easy, nothing is forced. Staying true to versatility and its urban personality, LAISON’s fabric selections stay light and balanced, utilizing textures from beads, pleats and embroidery. The main prints are taken of mushrooms, an ode to the free spirit and experimental side of the generation. Embroidered, the shapes are more organic allowing fluidity; as if, it’s meant to be. Less emotional and more playful, everything is cooked in a pot of magic. Looking at the night sky, of the moon and the stars, with a little bit of sparkle from the beads, the collection hugs and brings you back to a time, where love, love is all you need.
