Ever felt that you can never measure up to the expectations of others? Do you feel like an outcast in a place which you would like to call home, but you know you will not be accepted? I certainly have as a musician and artiste here. Well, Clark Kent aka Superman, one of my favourite superheroes, felt like that too since his days in Smallville- a person trying to do the best he can trying to fit in , yet knowing that he is different and will never be truly accepted by others. Yet that does not stop him from being a hero and doing the right thing in spite of how he feels. One can then choose to give into despair and just give up altogether, or one can continue doing what one is convicted of and press on, seeking the approval of the one who really matters in the end. I choose the latter, though God knows it is a struggle everyday dealing with rejection and discrimination. It's not easy to be me...but with the approval of the audience of one, that's what matters in the end.
