I believe God gave us musical gifts to bless the lives of others but sadly, some of us may have turned it into a vehicle for fame, money, greed and exploitation. We may pay lip service to caring and helping those around us who are downcast, ostracised and downtrodden. We can even make a big show of giving to charity in public. But the reality is that, on a daily basis, we can be so nasty, callous and hurtful to others around us at school, work or even towards our loved ones. Helping the outcasts starts with having a heart of love and real empathy first to those around us daily- people we tend to take for granted. Only then can our deeds of charity be meaningful and sincere. May God help us for we never know when we need a helping hand too when we fall on tough times.
