JONATHAN & CHRISTINE Connection in Sumba
by Luminosa Story

Updated on 20 December 2019, Waingapu

- How We Met - “Are you from People’s Republic of China?” That was the first thing that Jon said to Christine (still gets her riled up whenever she recalls this) when he first saw her during their orientation in Catholic Junior College – she was wearing her secondary school (PRCS) shorts. Somehow amused by his boldness and humour, the two 16-year-olds became friends quickly. When they found out that they had applied for the same subject combination, Jon decided that he would stay in CJC if they got into the same class. As it turns out, Jon and Christine not only found themselves as orientation group mates and classmates, but even as CCA mates (much to Jon's horror). Having spent two years of junior college at each other’s throats, they naturally became best friends. They eventually got together on 08 December 2009, after they graduated from CJC. —— - The Proposal - 9 years on (08 December 2018), Jon proposed to Christine when the two were in Colmar, France, one of the venues which inspired Beauty and the Beast. Unsurprisingly, Jon did not have the engagement ring made in time. Hence, he proposed with a Beauty and the Beast inspired substitute ring, which turned out to be of the wrong size. Not that Christine’s complaining because this resulted in him getting another ring from the Christmas market there to substitute the substitute ring. 3 rings later, the two are finally celebrating their marriage on their 10th anniversary, 08 December 2019. Jonathan & Christine decided to make their prewedding day an adventure in Sumba Island. It was magical, powerful and graceful all at once. There are honestly no words to describe how amazing they are. Cheers to more “misadventure” Christine and also Jonathan, we love them and they all turn out the way were meant to be
