Although my jewelry travels all over the world, I rarely get to know the women wearing my jewels. Last year I sold this diamond slice ring set to a wonderful client from the Netherlands. As she was enquiring about these rings we started chatting. As it turned out, her fiancé asked her to marry him in Java, where I was living at the time and where her ring was designed and created. Isn’t it beautiful when loops are closed? She told me the ring set was to be worn as her wedding band, and that there was some rush on getting it to her. Call me old-fashioned, I always prefer to ask friends and family to take a package with them over international air mail. As it happened, my parents were visiting and flying back to the Netherlands in the next few days, so that it could be posted from there. A few months later I received the most amazing photos, taken by Luminant Weddings, a wedding photographer couple from the Netherlands (who loved the ring so much that I got to make their engagement ring, but that’s another story). Seeing one of my diamond slice rings on such a beautiful bride fills me with so much pride and joy. They chose a beautiful location on the beach - sun, sea, sand and two rings, what else do you need?! Their wedding looks like a party filled with joy, and Jolanda and Michiel from Luminant Weddings sure know how to capture the most magical moments of pure bliss!
