Bella harbored a secret crush on Mirza in high school, but somehow he never noticed her back then. "Years later, I met some friends by chance at a restaurant, and it turned out that Mirza was there with them," Bella reminisced. After dating for some time, Mirza mustered up the courage to ask for Bella's hand in marriage. "He never proposed to me personally, he went straight to my father for his permission and blessing," said the lovely bride.
The pair decided to get married one year after Mirza asked for permission from Bella's father. They quickly contacted several important wedding vendors like the venue, makeup artist, and designer. Interestingly, Bella's makeup artist had a huge role in choosing her wedding date. "I only wanted Marlene Hariman to do my makeup, so we had to settle with any date when she was available. So it's was her, not my parents, who picked my wedding date!" recalled Bella.
As for the venue itself, Bella had made her choice many years ago. "My grandmother took me to Bumi Sangkuriang when I was young, and I immediately decided to get married there someday," reminisced Bella. After locking important vendors, the couple finished planning everything else in only three months. "I simply collected inspirations from Bridestory and let my vendors do their work. I just shared my wedding theme and entrusted all the rest to them," Bella said.
The wedding day was romantic and elegant. We are entirely smitten with the decorations by The Atmadjas, which were calm and elegant for the wedding ceremony yet romantic and glamorous for the reception. Bella herself looked stunning in a white kebaya complete with a Sundanese siger crown. For the reception, she showed up wearing a gold mermaid dress and bold makeup that contrasted beautifully with her daytime look.
Lastly, Bella gave some advice to other couples still planning their wedding, "Whether your wedding planning will be exciting or stressful is up to you. Also remember that your wedding only comes once, so just enjoy every moment."
