Hey future self.

Yes, as you know today is Valentine's Day, the global remembrance of love celebrated by more than a billion people all around the world. If you are reading this then you are most likely absolutely having a date with your computer, by yourself. No candle light dinner, no bed of roses, and no chocolate boxes except for the ones you bought yourself earlier.

And I am sure you are aware of the fact that a little bit later on tonight a lot of your girlfriends will be posting pictures on their social media. Pictures of their date night with boyfriends, or pictures of enormous bouquets given by their significant others, or some other kind of picture related to this day that will most probably send you into a big typhoon of envy and loneliness.

Yes, I know you. I know me.

And before this happens to yourself -or should I say myself- I would like for you to have this in mind. Being alone on Valentine's Day does not mean that you are unloved or lonely. Having no one sending you bouquets or take you to dinner doesn't mean that you're not good enough.

Being alone on Valentine's Day simply means that you are perfectly adequate and content with the love you have for yourself even without anyone by your side. It means that you are capable of being on your own and independent enough to rely on yourself to have fun on this day. It means that you can enjoy every favorite thing of yours without having to share ;)

It means that you, my dear, are enough.

Besides it's only for a night, everything will go back to normal tomorrow. Back it up. You got this girl!

Sincerely,

Present self.
