"When in Amsterdam" Junaidi & Rafika by Ivan

One of the things we value most at AXIOO is the relationship. Relationships with our staff, our colleagues, our partners, and relationships with our clients and also their families. We consider ourselves lucky and honored to witness families grow and to be invited to celebrate the many events in their lives. We’ve known Jun’s family for a while now. Jun’s siblings have shot their prewedding and wedding with us. Now it’s his turn. And we couldn’t be more honored. For this particular session, we headed to Amsterdam and Iceland. Amsterdam. It’s a one of a kind city. It’s small enough to be intimate and large enough to be a melting pot of many interests. It’s old enough to evoke feelings of European nostalgia, yet modern enough to be colorful. It’s artsy and it’s gezellig - a word that has no direct translation in any other language. And I’m just glad that I got the chance to shoot portraits in this city. And as if I wasn’t lucky enough, I got to continue my journey to Iceland with this beautiful couple. The weather was a little hard for my old bones to take though. Even in the summer, we had thunderstorms and had to struggle to stay warm. I would not want to find out what winter is like there. Jun and Rafika, thanks for taking me a long for the ride. It was great fun! I pray that your marriage will be just as beautiful as the journey we had. Cheers, Ivan
