Contemporary Documentary Style Pre-Wedding - Edric and Judith
by Adhytia Putra

Updated on 27 January 2018, Singapore

Ed sat on the bed, holding Judith's hands, massaging it with his fingers like he always does when it was just the two of them; except that there was a third person in the room - myself as the photographer. The two of them giggiled, at first in nervousness, but as time passed, I dissolved from their heads, and it was just the two of them, staring, admiring, thinking of their wedding happening in a couple of months, and that's when I took the images. Trained as a documentary photographer, my expertise lies in longer, more personal photography, trying to both disappear from both the frame and the surroundings, capturing real moments and real emotions. The sessions with Ed and Judith are no different; much like most of my photography, the process takes much longer and slower than most pre-weds, but the time spent was a must for both of them to consider me as nothing more than a fly on the wall. The whole shoot lasted two days, upon which most of the images are shot with a documentary approach; moments that they'll remember, moments that they themselves made.
