Love evolves. I found myself telling my wife the other day about how much I love her. I even gave her a reason why. And let me tell you, the reason I gave her was completely unthinkable for me at the time when I married her. I don’t think I would have faced her as I stood before the altar and tell her that “I love you because you’re a great mother for all our children and that you are so strong for bearing and birthing each one of our babies,” or “I love you because you’re brilliant at managing our finances and you really know how to make buckling up really fun” or even, “I’m so grateful that even when I mess up, you don’t hold it against me and forgive me even when I don’t deserve it.” Yeah, no… I don’t think that I would have even thought of it. But love evolves. Through out the challenges and the hardship we experience in our marriage, we find new reasons for loving each other. This is actually the biggest challenge in marriage, in my personal opinion - to find something worthy of loving in each other throughout the many seasons of our lives. The same way we evolve, so does love within our relationship. Taking points from my favorite ballads (and this is a really old one, so I’m pretty sure you don’t know it!), “love is an endless fight.” Yes it is… you got to fight for it every day to make sure that it doesn’t slip away in between your fingers, before your very eyes. Love evolves, but it is always worth fighting for. I want to tell Haryo and Audilia exactly that. I believe that you found great reasons to marry each other - and I can attest to how great those reasons are because you both are perfect for each other. But as your journey begins, a new challenge arises and I pray that you will continuously find the reason to love each other every day for the rest of your lives. Love, Garry
