Natural Textures
by Jason Corroto Photo

Updated on 29 September 2017, Sydney

A juxtaposition of nature’s beauty, laid bare to showcase the gorgeous elements of Mother Nature. We have a love affair with the natural environment that surrounds us. So we wanted to showcase what she has to offer in her raw beauty and bring some of the outdoors indoors for a special ‘natural textures’ shoot. In an empty light filled warehouse space we exposed different textures: hard and soft, smooth and rough, angular and curved. We sourced rocks from the ocean, bark from the trees, hand-woven wool, organic cotton and raw concrete. We then added florals consisting of wild greenery and fresh white flowers. The combination created a beautiful and romantic table setting with lots of candlelight. We hung organic muslin and exposed vintage festoons from the timber beams. Our brides wore a mix of hand picked vintage gowns, almost embodying the symbolic figurine of Mother Nature herself. We chose a semi-naked cake dripping in caramel with hand brushed copper to reflect more textures. Together this created a celebration of nature – strong, beautiful and romantic.
