Do you remember the feeling you get when you find yourself deeply attracted to someone? You know, the feeling that you can’t shake off whenever she (or he) enters your mind? It’s like you can listen to her talk about anything and everything makes perfect sense. You want to study her face, every wrinkle, every frown. You feel an electric jolt rushing through your body as her fingers brushes yours. You stand close to her and you feel something you can’t describe with words. Then you find yourself confused as to what to do next, until you decide to just soak in the moment and let it be. Being deeply attracted to someone brings such wonderful feelings that in that moment, you might find yourself thinking, “what is this? What am I feeling?” You might even get caught into thinking it’s love. But don’t let yourself jump into that conclusion so easily. There’s more to love that the spur-of-the-moment burning passion. Love is founded on a decision that turns into commitment. A decision that would have been easy to make if you found comfort, and a commitment that would be easy to stand true if you know exactly why you’re together in the first place. Love is a little more complex than mere attraction. But can an attraction grow into love? Only if you want it to. You can command yourself to love someone, but of course, it would be much easier to fall in love with someone you’re attracted to. I guess what I’m trying to say is that, every feeling you experience must be defined. Every deep attraction needs to know where it’s going to end up. Will it turn into something you want to stay for a long time? Or will you let it linger for just a few days? Will it turn into something real? Or are you playing a game? Whatever it is, attractions are legit. There’s nothing wrong with it. It’s just that you need to be careful with what you do with it. Anyway, enough with the rambling and on to Augustinus and Christine’s wedding that took place two weekends ago in Surabaya. If I had to name one thing I absolutely loved about this video, it’s that the second song played is written and sung by the groom himself. Now how is that for romance? This guy set the bar, for sure! August and Christine, it’s been a pleasure and a privilege to be a part of your special day. I pray that you will find yourselves falling deeper and deeper in love with each other every single day. Cheers, Garry
