This mint and coral wedding invitation suite was crafted for a rustic, country wedding. The bride wished to meld elements of the outdoors… flowers, wood, textures, animal life, leaves, muted colors and pops of bright color. With these elements in mind, we chose a textured cork paper and elected to print in one-color white ink. The monochromatic nature of the invitation and RSVP allowed room to incorporate color in other elements of the suite — such as an enclosure band with playful flowers in muted colors on warm white paper. We pulled out the mint and the coral of the band, and used brighter versions of these colors to accentuate the suite. A matte mint was used as a backing layer, and for a surprise pop of color we chose a metallic RSVP envelope in coral. To round out the design, a textured wood patterned envelope liner was paired with the warm white envelopes. As for the invitation design, we went with an uncomplicated, to the point design, so as not to clutter the invitation suite. We particularly love the playful banner beneath the antlers and flower with the couple’s wedding date, as well as the large RSVP font and matching antler and flower for the RSVP. We chose two different contrasting fonts — a calligraphy font, and a playful handwritten capped body text. The juxtaposition between the two accentuates the balance between the rustic/chic vibe of this country wedding. This gives the wedding suite a casual, yet modern feel. Overall, these elements balance out each other, and the result was a cohesive suite that was the embodiment of this bride’s vision for her rustic/country wedding.
