As a shoe-lover, it was unfortunate that Regina had to find trouble in choosing the perfect pair for her wedding. "Finding comfortable shoes with a model that suits my personality was really difficult," she recalled. "Sometimes the heels were too high, other times the material wasn't right, and some other times the shoes weren't very comfortable," she added. It was then she decided to create her own shoes for the big day. After some trials and errors, she finally made her first pair of shoes in 2008.
Since that initial pair, friends and family started ordering custom shoes for their special occasions. "I feel honored to help brides get their dream wedding shoes. The fact that it's my hobby makes me love the job even more," said Regina.
When designing a shoe, Regina thinks comfort is the number one priority as the shoes will be worn non-stop throughout the day. "This is why the measuring process is very important, because the shoe needs to be perfectly suitable with the wearer's foot," Regina explained. "After getting the measurements, we will adjust the shoe's model to the wedding gown, venue, and client's taste," she added. The results? A completely personalized pair made just for you.
The one thing Regina really highlights in picking out a pair of wedding shoes is whether or not the pair fits you in all aspects. "Say you're planning to wear a pair 15-cm heels, be sure that you're comfortable walking in that height as every woman's ability in wearing high heels are also different," Regina explained. "Wedding shoes might be the one thing a bride overlooks as it is usually covered by the dress anyway. But wearing a shoe that's uncomfortable will affect your posture and walk the whole day," she continued.
Lastly, we think that wearing a custom-made shoe is definitely something that brides will be more willing to do. This shows in crowd's enthusiasm in visiting Regis Bridal Shoes' booth in Bridestory Market 2017. "I didn't think the public's reaction would be this great. Some people didn't even get the chance to see the display as the booth was too crowded! Some brides who made deposit haven't even had a wedding date but they were willing to invest on these shoes.
