The Wedding of Michael & Nancy by Ivan

I read a really good article this morning that got me thinking about changes after marriage. I entered the journey being one person. But sometimes, I like to look back and see just how far I’ve come. I am a different person than the person who said “I do” at the altar. I am different after life happened. I laugh at the things that used to make me angry, and I get angry at the things that used to make me laugh. I changed my habits. I changed my views on certain subjects. I appreciate the mundane things and I don’t sweat the small stuff. I am not the same person I was years ago. But the best part of my marriage is that even when I look and realize just how far I’ve left the old Ivan behind, I still see my wife standing next to me, holding my hand. Helen is a different person too. She’s changed. Sometimes she smiles the smile I have come to know so well, but at times she shoots me a look I’ve never seen before. But she still loves me just the same. Maybe even more. And that makes me want to learn about her, to get to know her, to be with her, again and again. Change is the only thing that is constant. Change will always happen. People will change. The beauty is to keep holding on each other’s hand and not let each other drift away. I really like this snippet from the article: “so we wake up every morning, sort of the same, but sort of new. We look at each other, we introduce ourselves again, and we choose to love who we see. We choose to love. And that’s the only thing that will never change.” To Mike and Nancy, congratulations again on your marriage. I pray that through any change, you will reach out your hands and hold on each other tightly. Happy a blessed marriage! Ivan
