With their families and closest friends flown in, Yassen and Marlene were all set to dine and dance the night away in celebration of their union. In the time we spent with Yassen and Marlene during their short stay in our sunny singapore, we explored the streets around the peranakan house, whilst learning about this unique couple from Australia. Real stories of love constantly intrigue us, finding love is so rare, and strangely, sometimes it finds us. It’s thrilling to think that somewhere amidst that crowded subway train, bus, or quiet cafe, is a person with the potential to change our lives inexplicably. Yassen and Marlene first noticed each other at a coffee place back in Australia during their lunch break. They were strangers, but over the course of time they began talking and having their lunches together everyday. Next thing they knew, they were going for walks after lunch, and the rest is history. Located at ‘The Halia’ in the Singapore Botanical gardens, the venue was lush with green decor and a touch of gold. Laughter and cheers filled the hall, as the emcee, ‘indian guy’s name’ entertained the guests that evening with his wit and charm, all the while, breaking ice between the guests. By the time Yassen and Marlene were having their first dance to a slow number, the guests looked more like friends and much less like strangers. It was no surprise that when the beat sped up and speakers erupted with a fast dance number, everybody jumped onboard, even the children! It was a lot of fun to be present and we thoroughly enjoyed the process of working with Yassen and Marlene. Thanks very much for having us Yassen and Marlene! May you continually stand steadfast in your love. And to the strangers out there we’ve yet to meet, we look forward to our chance meeting. The team @ French Toast Productions
