Mariady & Clarissa White Couture Wedding
by Flying Bride

Updated on 08 February 2017, Ayana

Clarissa is one classy lady with fine taste who knows exactly what she wants: A White Wedding. With that clear direction, the challenge was to create a White Wedding that truly represents her taste and personality, in order to stand out from other White weddings. If I could sum up everything that she loves, it would be anything you could find on an Elie Saab Haute Couture dress, her number one favourite designer. Hence, I designed her wedding to be infused with many fine, intricate details inspired by the details of an Elie Saab dress; yet, combined with elegant Bali touches as the wedding celebration was in Bali. Elements of Crystals and Pearls which are often used as embellishment, were used as elements of their table setting. Inspired by the 3D flower appliqué on delicate lace which Elie Saab dress is famous of, the tables were covered with delicate lace tablecloth decorated with huge luscious flower arrangement with Orchids (a tropical flower which is the Bride's favourite flower) as the main flower element. Other element I included which I think was very special was inspired by the proposal. As Mariady hired one whole cinema to propose to Clarissa, the escort cards was especially designed to look like a classic ticket to the cinema. We also used pop corns to replace flower petal for the flower shower. Last but not least, we introduced an element of faith into the wedding through various small details. Before they met, each created a list of things they prayed would be the attributes they will find in their future spouse. Since they felt God was their matchmaker and there was many interesting story that they could share to others, we put some signages at the cocktail area with interesting facts/ quotes about them and their love story so it could be a blessing to others. Furthermore, the dinner tent was fully decorated with Chandeliers on its ceiling and the chandeliers were arranged in a cross shape as a testimony of how God is the One who orchestrated their love story. As the guests entered into the reception, I overheard so many guests talking about how it was the most beautiful wedding they have ever been to. Throughout the night, the guests were serenaded by Sandy Sandhoro, a famous jazz singer with amazing voice, before ending the night with flying lanterns and grand fireworks.
