Self-professed "Peter Pan" and Class 95FM DJ Tim Oh finally tied the knot, last June, with former Channel NewsAsia presenter Sabrina Chua. They pulled out all the stops with a two-day celebration and décor featuring their couple nick — Timbrina.
On the first day, they had a church ceremony at the quaint Armenian Church that was attended by close friends and relatives. "We picked this church because it's cosy with beautiful 19th century architecture and has lots of history. We got Tim's pastor to marry us and he entertained us with little anecdotes about Tim as a kid," laughs Sabrina.
Purple was the colour of the day, seen everywhere from the décor to the flower girls' outfits and fresh floral arrangements by The Bloom Room. After that, everyone proceeded to the marquee outside and tucked into a catered spread of Peranakan nosh and cold treats from a rented ice-cream cart.
That evening, they hosted a meat fest for 100 close friends at Brazil Churrasco. "We wanted it to be fun and we wanted our friends to be really comfortable so we asked them to come in flip flops and party attire," she explains.
"Our friend, Kim Tan, transformed the restaurant using recycled flowers from church and all sorts of décor details. There were table names, pennants for chairs, Mad Libs, bunting, candles and even a huge Timbrina poster," adds the bride.
