    Unique venue with excellent service!

We always wanted a small and intimate wedding celebration. We really liked the White House for it's unique retro charm and it's relaxed atmosphere. The venue also allowed for very flexible guest arrangements. We liked that the restaurant area could be used to host a formal sit-down banquet, while the arts center was ideal for young guests in an informal buffet reception. We are both vegetarians with rather strict requirements (my mom even insisted on her preferred food supplier!), but Alexis, the venue manager, was very accommodating to our preferences. We are really grateful for the effort put in by the chef to create a completely new menu for us. Everyone loved the food, including many non-vegetarian guests who commented on the excellent spread! We had several last-minute reshuffling of guests, and the numbers ballooned to over 100 attendees in the end, but Alexis made it work with 11 guests per table. With both the restaurant and cultural center at maximum capacity, it was still a very comfortable setting despite the large group. The staffs were very professional and prompt, and even packed food for us as we didn't have time to eat. Some may be wondering if there are potential problems hosting guests in 2 separate dining halls. We found this arrangement manageable, as we have a clear segregation on the type of guests (e.g. relatives vs. friends). We also had the outdoor solemnization as a whole, so nobody felt left out. Do take note that the venue is not wheelchair friendly (steep steps leading to the halls and no toilets for the disabled). However, the staffs were very attentive and helpful in assisting several of our wheelchair bound guests. We acknowledge that they already did their best, as it is a heritage venue and retrofitting it with ramps/lifts wasn't an option for them. We are both very grateful to The White House for having made our celebration a very unique and successful one.

Unique location that will give your guests a once in a lifetime experience!

From the start of our wedding planning, we have always envisaged a simple wedding celebration that is out of the traditional way. The idea of buffet was always in our mind as we would like our guests to eat to their fill as well as roaming around without the worry of missing any food served. We were still fretting on the venue we can host a simple buffet easy on our budget yet presentable until we met Adrian at a wedding show. We almost immediately shortlisted the venue as one of our preferred location having spoken to him. A follow-up site visit to The White House and meeting with Alexis just make our decision easier. The whole process of dealing with Alexis and Adrian was very enjoyable and both of them have been very patient and helpful throughout. Their prompt response and clear explanation have made all communications a breeze. Alexis also made it a point to settle the event's order and kept me updated on who is taking over her if in any case I need some changes before she went on her leave. We both are very impressed with the professionalism and passion both put into their job. On the day of the event, everything happened as per planned and we have to say the team at The White House has done a great job leaving us with nothing to worry about. The venue was decorated beautifully according to our selection of theme and flowers. Alexis has also came back to ensure the event went on well even though she was supposed to be on leave. Our parents who were skeptical about the venue told us that they received feedback from our guests complimenting on the uniqueness of the location and the awesome Nonya food and dessert prepared by the chef. Our guests from Hong Kong left The White House with an experience they mentioned they would not have ever had. We both are very grateful to have chosen The White House to host our little wedding celebration. The experience was superb and we would have no hesitation to come back again for any events we need to host in the future.

    Perfect wedding

We had our wedding here at Indocafe on 12th November and it was everything I had in mind! My guests loved the food so much they are already planning their next visit and they loved the simplicity and special ambience of the whole event venue. Special thanks to the manager and staff that day for letting me wait out the rain and doubling up their pace when the rain finally stopped to make our outdoor solemnisation possible. We would also like to express our gratitude towards Alexis, our event manager, who went the extra mile in helping me put things together smoothly given the short notice, and she displayed such professionalism and patience after the outburst of my bridezilla moments and urgent requests. I highly recommend any other couples looking for a small, cosy, and different wedding to hold their event here at the Indocafe! The only regret you'd have is not having enough of the good food!

    A private and casual Wedding

We held our solemnization and wedding reception dinner at the white house in June of 2016.We were looking for a small and cosy place to host our guests and the white house stands out among the places we shortlisted. The venue had a very cosy feel to it and the space was ideal for the amount of guests we have. It is highly accessible by public transport with Newton MRT station just a short walk away. For my guests who drove, they parked at a sister restaurant, 2 buildings down the road, as the parking space at the white house was utilized for my solemnization ceremony. One of the things guests will remember is the food served during the wedding and I must say the White House did not disappoint. The food was delicious with a wide variety of options to choose from. My personal favourite are Babi Pongteh, Braised lamb leg, Indocafe Kueh Pie Tee, Pistachio Financier and Chendol Panna Cotta. The staffs at Indocafe were very professional and attentive, promptly refilling a glass when it's empty etc. A special thanks to my event manager, Alexis, who was very friendly and easy to speak to, and whom I believe went above and beyond her duty to make my wedding reception a success. I will definitely recommend anyone who wishes to have a small and cosy wedding to The White House.

    Lovely experience

Venue: The location is perfect, at the central of Singapore along Scotts Road. We liked the fact that there will be plenty of parking space for our guests who drive, while Newton MRT is also within walking distance for those who don't. We also liked the cosy space of the venue, with a Peranakan touch that feels close to home. It's a perfect venue for an intimate wedding with our family and close friends. Food: The food was delicious with an awesome variety to choose from. There were oriental dishes like fried mee siam and peranakan kueh pie ti which our older guests would enjoy, while international selections like mini Angus beef burgers would be a hit with our younger guests. We also loved the heart-shaped macarons and green tea cake! In all, we had a lovely experience attending "The Wedding Collection" at the White House on 21/5/2016. The staff were also very helpful and accommodating to us, giving us the space to decide and discuss but yet were always attentive to our every need. I would definitely trust our wedding with the people at White House given their attention to detail and professionalism! Awesome!

Charming Colonial Wedding Venue for a Dream Wedding

We were invited for the wedding showcase of The White House recently and introduced many of our couples to this exquisite and classy venue. They loved the exterior of The White House which is a stately heritage-steeped architectural building, the interior which is light-filled and well-maintained, as well as the sumptuous Peranakan spread, not to mention prompt and attentive service by the crew. An ideal venue for cosy and intimate niche weddings!
