The night after the wedding is where the couple feel some sense of relief, anxiety and happiness at the same time. But behind those closed doors, there can also be some dramatic events that occur on the newlywed's most anticipated night that are beyond any brides-to-be's expectation. So, we have interviewed 6 real brides who experienced a funny, unique and even horrific story on their wedding night.

We slept separately

"We were too exhausted and just fell asleep on separate spots. He slept on the sofa with the TV still turned on while I dozed off on the bed with my make-up on. " – Lea, 31.

My husband got sick

"The wedding party went well but after that my husband suddenly got sick. He caught high fever so I had to take care of him and checked his temperature every hour. I practically stayed up all night. The morning after, he felt a lot better and we had awesome sex, and more. " – Naomi, 35.

Walked down the road for a bite

"We couldn't eat anything at the party, I guess we're too excited and too tired then. When we decided to call it a night, both of us couldn't sleep either because we were starving. So we walked down to the nearest 24-hour burger joint to grab a bite. I still consider it something romantic and kind of sweet, you know, hungry newlyweds walking down the street in the middle of the night." – Mia, 25.

After-party crashers

"Our best men and bridesmaids are our closest friends, so close and too attached to us that they couldn't leave us alone. In my most distant memory, I only remember, after the party's over, they crashed to our room and we just hang out and talk all night until we all dozed off." – April, 28.

It was great until…

"We did the good deed on our wedding night. It was great until we found out that there was a mouse in the room, running around. I hate mice, hate it even more when it's in our honeymoon bedroom on our wedding night. We complained to the hotel staff and checked out earlier than we should." – Katy, 32.

Horrible flood!

"Our wedding reception was held in a city's function hall and we didn't book any hotel room because our home is only 3 km away so we didn't feel like we need to. But it was raining hard and we didn't know until the party's over that the flood has blocked our venue. We literally couldn't go anywhere, same goes with most of our guests. We're trapped inside the venue for almost 4 hours. I remember it was past midnight that the water has subsided and we finally got out from the venue." – Viona, 29.
